FAQ

1EURO 2021 General Information

Q: When does EURO 2021 occur?
A: We have the great pleasure of inviting you to attend the 31st EURO Conference to be held in Athens, Greece on 11-14 July 2021.

Q: Where will EURO 2021 take place?
A: The conference will take place in Athens, the capital of Greece. Specifically, the 31st European Conference on Operational Research will be held on the Campus 2 of the University of West Attica.

Q: Which is the official Conference language?
A: The conference official language will be English.

Q: What if, according to circumstances, the Congress is converted into a hybrid or a virtual event?
A: After a year of lockdowns and limited travel, we are optimistic that the EURO 2021 Conference will again provide an excellent opportunity for the OR community to meet in person in a city that in a unique way stands for the identity of Europe. Euro 2021 acknowledges that virtual conferences can’t entirely replicate the conference experience, which normally involves face to face meetings and networking opportunities. However, Euro 2021 is fully prepared to adjust its strategy in case of any similar situation and to convert the physical congress to a hybrid or virtual one, with main objective that the new format will continue to meet the needs of the Euro 2021 community and to ensure a viable future for the association’s activities in scientific education and professional support. Registered participants will still be eligible to participate, authors whose abstracts were accepted will be published in the digital abstract book, with e-posters available for virtual consultation and industry to have a wide selection of sponsorship opportunities.

2Abstract & Publication

Q: How many abstracts can I submit?
A: Answers vary depending on your role in the abstract submission process. If you will be:
• the presenter (All presenting authors should register to the conference. The registration fees entitle an author to submit and present one abstract.)
• one of the co-authors (nor the presenter or the first author, both cases covered above), you are entitled to be part of as many abstracts as you want.

Q: Is there a specific template I have to use to submit my abstract?
A: No specific template is required to submit your abstract. Please visit the relevant section of the website and follow instructions provided to submit your abstract.

Q: What will the EURO 2021 publish in the conference proceedings?
A: The electronic version of the proceedings contains all the abstracts accepted for the conference that correspond to registered authors.

Q: Will the full papers of the abstracts be published?
A: No. EURO 2021 does not publish full papers. There are, however, a number of Special Issues on prestigious international journals planned. Therefore, please feel free to submit a full paper of your abstract there. You may find all the relevant information, here.
